Random Ramblings: What is it about…

What is it about hope?

Hope.

“Hope appears in ancient Greek mythologywith the story of Zeus and Prometheus. Prometheus stole fire from the god Zeus, which infuriated the supreme god. In turn, Zeus created a box that contained all manners of evil, unbeknownst to the receiver of the box. Pandora opened the box after being warned not to, and those evils were released into the world; Hope, which lay at the bottom of the box, remained.”-Wikipedia.

In the darkest times of a person’s life, we can’t help but hope. No matter what were facing, we still try to look with the uncertain future with optimism.

Is it just human nature to want for the goodness in life. To want for the better outcome?

Its pretty amazing how the most ‘down’ of people still manage to smile. Those people tend to think of somewhere or something better. That image garners strength that empowers them with hope…Something that allows them to want to go further despite the burden of their problem at that moment.

Hope is a wonderful thing. Its something no one can truly take from us. When you hit rock bottom hope can tell you that the only way is up.

Allow yourself to hope. Allow yourself to want to look for good. Look for better. You won’t lose anything by hoping. And there is no harm in wanting better for yourself.

Review:

So I have used this product for a week and a half now. I only bought the 20ml one to try out because I ran out of my ponds facial wash with herbal clay. I got my sis one too which I gave to her among other stuff last Christmas.

Anyways, upon checking it out initially I was already happy with the scent and the packaging which I thought was cute.

The 20ml was perfect to carry around and leave in my bag. The bottle was small and handy. When I used it the consistency was fine. Clear and water like but not quite.

It foamed up pretty well while I used only a small amount and it didn’t take much effort to wash off. It did make my skin feel smooth and soft without the sticky face tight soap feeling.

It was mild on my skin and it also didn’t cause any breakouts.

The price was reasonable as well. Though to save up on money I’d recommend to buy a lot of the 20ml ones instead of a big bottle because you initially save more.

The impression the facial wash gave me though is that it may not be able to help big skin problems like pimples and stuff. I do think its mild enough to use on any skin type however if your purpose is to get rid of pimples or the likes, you may want something stronger that focuses on targeting skin problems. For a normal wash and cleansing this facial wash is really good.

Pros:

●Cleans thorougly

●Gentle

●Non-comedogenic, No breakouts

●Non drying

●Rich in active ingredients that are good for skin

●Affordable

●Easily available in leading stores like Watson’s, SM, Robinsons, mercury and Cherry foodarama.

●Cute packaging which is quite Hygienic and handy

Cons:

●None of which I can see so far

Rating:

4.5/5

Would I repurchase? Yes. I’d use it though as a back up facial wash and keep it in my backpack or locker for those days of need like after PE.

(I would just like to add that I am not sponsored by these companies or future companies to review their product/s. I have purhased the things I’ve reviewed on and will review on with my own money.)

Why review?

So as a reader before seeing countless reviews of products I had thought once,

“What’s the reason for so many reviews on one product? Don’t bloggers have nothing else to blog about that they review the same product another person also reviewed?”

Well when I started trying out new soaps and facial washes, makeup and lotions; I understood the need for a lot of opinions. It gives the consumer a look into the product from many different users. From reviews I learned of the products different reactions negatively and positively. I can gage if the risk of possible bad reactions brought by the product is worth it.

I went into reviewing for 2 reasons.

  1. I was honestly bored and in need of new blogging material
  2. I’d like to add on my opinions on products and give you readers more insight on the products I try.

I encourage you phantom readers to read reviews. Not only mine but countless others too! It’ll help you see how the peeps who used it enjoyed the product. Maybe, the peeps can also try reviewing for yourselves.

That’s all for now:)

DIY No slip bookmark/Book wrap

Hi! Still on vacation my dear Phantom Readers. I had a burst of boredom which led to a little creativity.

I made a no slip bookmark that can double as a wrap for books or journal. As a wrap it can keep the book nicely shut which can also help those paperbacks with covers that just love to stay up.

Materials Needed:

○ Ribbon. (Measured by the length of the book and twice the width.)

○Any (cute/cool) button

○Needle

○Thread the same color as the ribbon

○ Elastic (hair elastics work best)

STEP ONE

Prepare all material acquiring a good median of size for your books. Use that book to measure up the ribbon to cut.

STEP TWO

Check the length of the ribbon on a few books ranging in sizes slightly bigger or smaller than the median book.

STEP THREE

Thread the needle and fold the elastic one end of the ribbon. Sew together.

STEP FOUR

Designate place for the button and sew that on to the other end of the ribbon.

STEP FIVE

Make as many as you can and gift them to friends as a late Christmas gift, birthday gift, just because it because you wanna encourage them to read too!

^_^

See you next time!

Product Review

Fairness and Flawless L’amour instant whitening love soap.

Disclaimer: photo is not mine. Unfortunately I can’t properly credit the pic because I have just saved it on my phone and have long forgotten where it came from.

Hello Phantom readers:)

Welcome to my first product review! Up to starting the New Year I thought of more things to blog about. This is one review of hopefully more to come.

In this post, we will look into Fairness and Flawless L’amour soap.

I got mine in the st. Francis branch behind SM Megamall.

Fairness & Flawless is an organic skincare line.

●Offers BFAD & FDA approved 100% ●Dermatologist tested derma products ●Cater to different skin types and problems.

They have some franchisees all over Philippines, resellers and also a Facebook Page.

L’amour is widely known for its micro-exfoliating benefits which reveals fairer and smoother skin with every wash.  Promising instant whitening in one wash, a lot of peeps from facebook have raved about this soap. A bit sceptical I had to try it for myself.

Price: php150

Resellers may sell it for 165.

Review:

The soap bar which was a pretty pink color had a pleasant scent to it. Using it on my uber sensitive skin for about 2 weeks now, I did not experience any negative reactions. I was still cautious around skin portions with eczema thought. The soap is pretty mild and lathers really well. It however melts easily.

The promise of whitening after one wash was true. However for me, it wasn’t very significant. I had to study my skin well to tell the difference. Now after 2 weeks I did lighten up some.

Pros:

●Mild

●Nice scent

● Whitens after every wash

●No bad skin reaction or allergies

Cons:

●Price is slightly more expensive than other whitening soaps like silka or kojoc or even beauché.

●Whitening isn’t very noticable at first.

Rating: 3.8/5

Will I repurchase? Perhaps. I’m leaning towards yes
