So catching up. My mother had her birthday last 4th of June. ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ€๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ€๐ŸŽˆWe bought her a cake and surprised her in her office late at night. She did not see that coming.

I am working on getting some part time job while on break.๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒ

Hopefully in โ˜•Seattle’s best coffeeโ˜•. The sister cafe of Starbucks.

We’ll see how that goes.

I will enroll in a few ballet classes come June 18.๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’ Back to the Leos and tight^_^ yes please. I’m excited!!!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

Right now I have a few events coming up. I’m an incoming executive board Secretary for my yoga club.๐Ÿ™Namaste!

I have a summit to attend this Saturday. I need to find a corporate attire. ๐Ÿ‘“โŒš๐Ÿ‘”๐Ÿ’ผ

I have two debuts to attend. ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿ‘ฑA yoga party to celebrate international yoga day. …๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ†

And I have my eyes set on a free donut on dunkin donuts day.๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ

That’s a hefty schedule.

When I have time and the inspiration strikes, I plan to write๐Ÿ““๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“” or compose ๐ŸŽผor maybe use the electric keyboard I bought but never fully learned to play.๐ŸŽน๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ

I have a few good weeks ahead. Everything is past paced and exciting!

Right now I’m awaiting the big grade reveal.๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ง๐Ÿ˜ฆ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚

Logging into my account to see my grades…its just like the hunger games. ๐Ÿ™†No joke. It’s a struggle every semester.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Praying for good grades. Hopefully good enough to get into the deans list and convince CHED to grant me a scholarship. *fingers crossed*

In other news. I can now stand on my head. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘My head stand lasted a little over a minute.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

From someone who had trouble keeping her head not collapsed to someone who can do it 2 months after….Man, if I could stick to my diet and exercise as well as I stick to practicing my head stand I might actually turn heads ๐Ÿ˜‚ jk.

No but really this determination needs to be channeled in other activities I put myself into. Lets see how that goes as well.

Anyway. Stuffs okay….having fun on rainy days. Wish me luck. Grades away so I can spend the rest of the days for play! Happy Besties Day phantom readers.

Ill update about my grades when they are completely given.

Have a nice day!๐Ÿ˜Š

18th birthday Debut, explained

What is a debut?

According to Wikipedia, “Theย Debutย is aย traditionalย Filipinocoming-of-ageย celebration which celebrates a young woman’s 18th birthday, theย age of maturityย in theย Philippines.

Although also reaching maturity at 18, a Filipino man may mark his own debut on his 21st birthday, albeit with less formal celebrations or none at all.”

Similar to a sweet 16 or quinceanera, agirl who will turn 18 would throw this big party wherein she may or may not have an entourage of pairs of odd numbers usually 18,9,7 or even 5. There would be traditional practices like the 18s. And a special performance by the debutant.

18s

The most traditional of the 18s are the 18 roses, candles and 18 treasures.

18 roses(18 flowers)- the debutant has 18 significant males who would dance with her, each giving her a rose or special flower. The first is usually the father or father figure followingGother family members, relatives, friend and the 17 or 18th rose is usually forthe debutant’s significant other or closest brother if not closest friend.

18 candles- 18 significant females in the debutante life who serve as her guiding light throughout her life.

“Each delivers a short speech about her relationship with the celebrant, and any special greeting, and lights a candle that is either held or placed on a stand.

Lastly, there are the (optional) 18 white roses. If a debutante is missing a figure in her life such as a father, she chooses her 18 white roses in place of that figure.”

18 treasure(18 tokens)- 18 people of mixed genders would be giving the debutant a special gift and then they would give this speech and tell the significance of their gift to the debutant.

Other 18s

18 Blue Bills/18 k- older members would pin blue bills or thousand peso bills on the debutante gown as the debutant dances with her escort.

18 books- for the bookworm debutant.

18 shoes/any other article of clothing- depending on the theme or of the debutante choosing people gift her clothes or anything else

Throught the years a lot of other 18s emerged. The debutant can make up her own unique 18s to make.her debut that more meaningful.

program

Originally debuts are formal parties but in this age of time, debuts can be semiformal or casual depending on the different preference of the debutant.

“A typical ceremony begins with a short prayer invoking blessings upon the debutante. She then enters, and performs traditional dances with her court for their guests. The most important one is known as the “GrandCotillionย Dance”, usually aย waltz.

Music and other performances are usually interspersed between the “18 items” rites, while dinner and sometimes alcohol are served. Aย birthday cakeย ceremony often occurs, and a fireworks display may conclude more extravagant parties. The night ends with the debutante’s speech, in which she shares her thoughts on life and extends her gratitude towards her guests.”

Hello Phantom readers.

If I haven’t mentioned before, I am from the Philippines.

Since its the first of September…It’s the start of the celebration for Christmas.

You read that right it’s a thing of this country to start preparing for Christmas as early as September.

Some households may start putting up their trees and Christmas songs are starting to be played on the radio.

Its awesome because by the time December comes, we are all very well in the spirit of the holiday.

After Christmas,we still have a holiday hangover that can last well into February or even march.

Yup we celebrate from September to march:)

Its a great thing to look forward to especially when students are having exams and final grading systems. The thrill of seeing lights outside at night and the decorations on the tree help the time fly by faster.

The only thing that’s missing would be snow…that would be fun (que people who would disagree). For people who have never even seen snow…well…

My Best friend.

Hello phantom readers!

I think it is about time I tell you internet peeps about my best friend. ๐Ÿ™ŒShe is a sister to me in everything but blood. My constant confidant and guidance especially when I feel like my world is just a big tangled mess and I’m in the deepest pit of darkness, she is the brightest light that can put a smile on my face in my worst of moods.๐Ÿ˜ป

I met her in my freshmen year of high school๐Ÿ“•๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“š. I left my first school Montessori and then transferred to a catholic all girls school๐Ÿ˜‡. It was around Christmas time ๐ŸŽ„and Montessori was having their annual Christmas program. I was visiting and enjoying the free food when my classmate from grade school who still went to Montessori started playfully teasing me.

I was pretty childish back then(still am^ฯ‰^). So naturally I ran after him. I couldn’t catch up to him but then this girl fell in step with me, she was also trying to chase the guy because apparently he was bugging her earlier.

All was fine, the guy wasn’t a bully, he was just a really good friend and such friends just love to annoy you at times. I thanked him for that day.๐Ÿ‘Š

The girl and I eventually gave up since, why the effort? There’s free food everywhere,๐Ÿด๐Ÿจโ˜•๐Ÿง๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ—๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ

I rather feast than chase that guy all day. The girl, whom I like to call sister in Greek (Percy Jackson got us greeky๐Ÿ˜น) sat down with me and we got talking and founding out about everything we had and didn’t have in common.

We clicked.๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

The next school year, I transferred back to Montessori and we got close and closer and even after she transferred school the next year, we never drifted away. โ˜บWe hardly talked to each other but when we do meet, it’s like we were never apart.๐Ÿ’ž

She knows my deepest darkest secrets and guards them as if they were her own. She loves me despite hugging her too hard that I forgot about her milk box she had and it spilled on her top…๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜˜

She’s my biggest motivator in life and I really can’t imagine losing her.

She really is the best.๐Ÿ˜˜

A few days ago, we finally saw each other after like a year. We went to the mini mall that mostly is just a bazaar and we played cruddy arcade games and sat down for hours talking about anything and nothing. It was the best I had in a long while.๐Ÿ˜†

Although I have other friends I consider my best friends as well, this special girl has a special place in my heart ๐Ÿ’–

She got me through a lot and always refused to believe I was anything less than great. I have tons of flaws and she doesn’t care for any of them. I absolutely love her and thank God I have met this wonderful person in my life.

To the people reading through my long post, I just want you to remember not to take for granted the people/person you call your best friend. They truly are gifts sent from heaven.

Happy Best Friends Day!!!!๐Ÿ’Ÿ
